Serving
- What makes a serve illegal in table tennis?A serve is a fault if the ball is not on an open palm, is tossed less than 16 cm or with spin, is hit on the way up, is hit over the table or below its surface, is hidden from the receiver or misses either court.
- What happens if the serve hits the net in table tennis? If a serve touches the net and then lands correctly on the receiver's side, it is a let: nobody scores and the serve is taken again.
Rallies, points and doubles
- Can you touch the table in table tennis?A player loses the point if their free hand touches the playing surface during a rally, if they move the table, or if they or their clothing touch the net.
- What is a let in table tennis?A let is a rally whose result does not count.
- What are the rules for doubles in table tennis? In doubles, partners must hit the ball in turn: server, receiver, server's partner, receiver's partner and round again.
