Canoe

Canoe sport has two Olympic forms. Canoe sprint is racing in lanes on flat water over 200, 500 and 1000 metres and longer distances; the boats are kayaks (K), paddled sitting with a two-bladed paddle, and canoes (C), paddled with a single blade, so K1 is a single kayak and C2 a canoe for two. Canoe slalom is a race against the clock down white water through numbered gates, to get down without fault in the shortest possible time.
