How a match works, in a minute
How a sitting volleyball match works
- Sitting volleyball is volleyball for six a side, played sitting on the floor, on a small court with a net about a metre high.
- When playing the ball, part of the body between buttocks and shoulders must touch the floor. Losing contact while serving, attacking or blocking is a fault called lifting.
- Otherwise the game works as volleyball: each side has three touches to send the ball back over the net.
- A set goes to the first team to 25 with a two-point lead, and the match to the first to win three sets. A fifth set is played to 15.
