What is a technical foul in pickleball?
A · Advanced · Officiating and play · 2 of 4Checked 15 October 2026
Referees manage behaviour in steps. A verbal warning is a caution with no penalty, one per match. A technical warning costs no point; three of them, or one plus a technical foul, forfeit the game. A technical foul, for extreme behaviour such as throwing the paddle, costs a point. Serious cases bring forfeit or ejection.
