How a match works, in a minute
How a padel match works
- Padel is played two against two on a court enclosed by glass and mesh walls.
- Each point starts with an underarm serve, bounced and hit at or below the waist, into the box diagonally opposite.
- After the ball bounces once on your side it may hit the walls any number of times before you return it. It must bounce on the other side before touching their walls.
- Scoring is as in tennis: points go 15, 30, 40 and game. A set goes to the first pair to six games with a two-game lead, with a tie-break at 6-6.
Reading the score
At 40-40, deuce, events use either advantage (two points in a row needed) or a single deciding point.
