How the padel world ranking works
Padel is played in pairs, but the FIP ranks players. Each player's ranking is the total of their 22 best results from the last 52 weeks on the two professional circuits:
- the Qatar Airways Premier Padel Tour (Majors, P1, P2 and the season Finals), and
- the Cupra FIP Tour (Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze and the FIP Finals).
Points depend on the tournament's category and the round reached. Winning a Major or the FIP World Cup Pairs is worth 2,000 points; winning an FIP Bronze is worth 40.
Points are defended: a result stays for 52 weeks and is then replaced by what the player does in the same week a year later.

Qualifying rounds
Players who come through qualifying get points too:
| Tournament | Qualified (bonus) | Lost in last qualifying round | Lost in the round before |
|---|---|---|---|
| World Cup Pairs, Major | 15 | 30 | 15 (men only) |
| P1 | 10 | 18 | |
| P2 | 5 | 15 | 7 (men only) |
| FIP Platinum | 3 | 9 | 5 |
| FIP Gold | 2 | 5 | 3 |
| FIP Silver | 1 | 3 | 2 |
| FIP Bronze | 2 |
The FIP's note says the Gold and Silver figures for that earlier qualifying round apply to the third-last round in tournaments with 64-pair qualifying draws.
Draw sizes (Premier Padel, from 2025)
| Tournament | Men: main draw, qualifying | Women: main draw, qualifying |
|---|---|---|
| Major | 48, 24 | 40, 16 |
| P1 | 40, 24 | 28, 16 |
| P2 | 28, 24 | 24, 16 |
Some qualifying draws are smaller (16 pairs for men, 8 for women).
The Race
The Race Ranking uses the same 22 best results, but from the 2026 calendar year only.
A worked example
Made up to show the arithmetic. An Indian player counts a P2 quarter-final (90), three FIP Platinum titles (900), a Platinum final (180), six Gold semi-finals (300) and eleven Silver titles (880) over 52 weeks: 22 results. Total: 90 + 900 + 180 + 300 + 880 = 2,350. If they later reach a P1 last 16 (90), it replaces their lowest counting result (a Gold semi-final, 50), so the total becomes 2,350 − 50 + 90 = 2,390.
