Fouls and safety

  1. What is illegal in Muay Thai?Fouls include biting, head-butting and spitting, pressing on the eyes, locking or bending joints, throwing with the hip or tackling, lifting the opponent, striking a downed opponent and striking the groin or back of the neck.
  2. What happens when a Muay Thai fighter commits a foul?For a minor foul the referee gives a caution, often without stopping; three of the same caution make a warning.
