- How do you win the javelin throw?The javelin is won by the longest valid throw.
- What makes a javelin throw legal?The javelin must be held at the cord grip with one hand and thrown over the shoulder or the upper part of the throwing arm.
- When does a foot on a line make the throw a failure?The javelin is thrown from a runway 4 m wide, from behind a curved white line called the arc.
- What makes a landing good?The metal head of the javelin must strike the ground before any other part of it, and must land inside the two white lines of the sector.
