Who referees a Thang-Ta bout?

A · Advanced · The fight · 1 of 1
Checked 15 October 2026

One central referee runs the bout inside the arena, checks equipment and gives warnings. Six score judges, three for each fighter, record marks and hand their sheets to the referee. The chief jury checks the sheets, declares the winner and settles disputes; that word is final for the bout. A player may protest within half an hour, paying Rs 1,000.

How it works

  • Central referee: one, inside.
  • Score judges: six, three a side.
  • Chief jury: final word.
  • Timekeeper: stopwatch and bell.
  • Referee checks: dress and equipment.
  • Protest: within half an hour.
  • Fee: Rs 1,000.
  • Officials: recognised by the academy.

The glossary has the central referee, the score judges, the chief jury, the timekeeper, the protest and the World Thang-Ta Federation and Huyel Langlon Academy.
