How a match works, in a minute
How a snooker frame works
- Snooker uses one white cue ball, 15 reds worth one point each, and six colours worth two to seven, up to the black.
- A player pots a red, then a colour, then a red, and so on. Potted colours go back on their spots while reds are left.
- When the reds are gone, the colours are potted in order of value, from yellow to black.
- A foul ends the turn and gives the opponent at least four points, up to seven. The player with more points when the frame ends wins it, and a match is an agreed number of frames.
