Targets and rounds

  1. What does a skeet range look like, and how do the targets fly?A skeet field has two houses 36.8 metres apart, a high one on the left and a low one on the right.

Penalties, safety and equipment

  1. What are the safety rules on a shotgun range?A shotgun must be carried open and empty at all times off the shooting station.
  2. What guns and ammunition are allowed in skeet?Any smoothbore shotgun of 12 gauge or smaller may be used, except semi-automatics and pump actions.
  3. What do shotgun shooters have to wear?Athletes must wear a shooting vest or jacket with side pockets for cartridges, sports clothing and closed shoes.
