The game

  1. What are the basic rules of pickleball?Pickleball is played with solid paddles and a plastic ball on a 20 ft by 44 ft court, in singles or doubles.
  2. How do you call the score in pickleball?Only the serving side scores, by winning the rally.

Serving and rallies

  1. What makes a legal pickleball serve?The server stands behind the baseline with no foot on the court and serves within 10 seconds of calling the score.
  2. Why do you have to let the ball bounce in pickleball?After the serve, the receiver must let the ball bounce before hitting it, and the serving side must then let the return bounce before hitting it.
  3. Can you go in the kitchen in pickleball?The non-volley zone is the 7 ft area beside the net, lines included.
