How to qualify in Para triathlon
How para triathletes qualify for the Los Angeles 2028 Paralympics
Para triathlon at LA28 has 12 medal events, six for men and six for women, and 120 places (60 men, 60 women):

Places go to the country. The top nine in each event on the World Triathlon Paralympic Qualification Ranking at 14 June 2028 win a place, at most two per country per event. The ranking counts results from 15 June 2027. Six men and six women are invited.

When a country already has two places in an event, its next athlete is passed over and the place goes to the next country. Places that cannot be given from the ranking become invitations.
The host
One men's and one women's invitation are kept for the United States, but only if it wins no ranking place in that gender.
Eligibility and entries
- A place on the Paralympic Qualification Ranking at 14 June 2028.
- International classification.
- A World Triathlon national federation licence for 2028.
- At most 24 places per country (two in each of 12 events), entered only in the event where the place was won.
The ranking period
The period runs from 15 June 2027 to 14 June 2028. As an exception, a continental championships held between 1 January and 14 June 2027 also counts, but only if that continent holds no continental championships between 15 June 2027 and 14 June 2028.

Unused ranking places go to the next athlete in the event; unused invitations are re-invited. After 2 July 2028 they go back to the IPC.
