Classes and equipment

  1. What is para archery?Para archery is target archery for athletes with a physical or vision impairment, run under Book 5 of the World Archery rules.
  2. What is the W1 class in para archery?P.I.2 athletes shoot Para Recurve or Para Compound; compound bows may draw up to 60 lb.

Competition

  1. How is a para archery tournament run?The qualification round ranks athletes: 72 arrows at 70 m for Para Recurve, 50 m for Para Compound and W1 and 30 m for VI.
  2. How are para archery matches scored?Para Recurve, W1 and VI use the set system: the higher set score wins two points, a tie one each; the first to 6 wins (5 for teams).
