Divisions and classes (para archery)
Para athletes compete in four divisions: Para Recurve and Para Compound, both for sport class P.I.2 only; W1, for P.I.1 only; and VI, for V.I.1 and V.I.2. Men and women compete separately in all but VI, where there is no distinction between men and women or between compound and recurve.

Equipment and divisions
Para Recurve division
Recurve archery in which the bow is held in one hand while the fingers of the other hand draw and release the string, unless a classifier has authorised another way. Only one sight is allowed, with one sighting point, and it may have no prism, magnifier or level. Nothing electric or electronic may be used, and arrow shafts are at most 9.3 mm and tips at most 9.4 mm.
Para Compound division
Compound archery with a bow whose draw is varied by pulleys or cams, which may be of shoot-through type. The peak draw weight must not exceed 60 lb. A release aid may be used if not permanently attached to the bow, and sights may have magnifying lenses, prisms and a level.
