Checked 20 October 2026Valid for: the 2025 World Bridge Team Championships in Herning, Denmark (Bermuda Bowl, Venice Cup, d'Orsi Trophy, Wuhan Cup), from secondary sources. The WBF's own conditions of contest, which set the places per zone, are not saved (the WBF site refused the download). Not covered: the number of places each zone gets; the 2027 edition; pairs and individual championships.
The World Bridge Team Championships are held every odd-numbered year and have four titles:
| Title | Teams |
|---|---|
| Bermuda Bowl | open |
| Venice Cup | women |
| d'Orsi Trophy | seniors |
| Wuhan Cup | mixed |
Countries do not enter directly. They first play their zone's championship (the World Bridge Federation has seven zones), and the best teams there go to the world event. India plays in the Asia and Middle East zone.
At the world event, 24 teams in each title play a round robin (everyone plays everyone, 23 matches); the top 8 go into knockout quarter-finals.
