How a sqay fight works

Sqay is a martial art from Kashmir. Shown with Loba, the combat event.

1. Two players fight with a tura, a leather-covered stick standing in for a sword, and a bargula, a soft leather shield.
2. A clean face kick scores a Dre, worth 4 points; a chest kick a Dha, worth 2.
3. A clean strike with the tura, pulled back in time, scores a Yaw, worth 1.
4. The player with more points wins.

How long

A bout lasts five minutes, extended to seven if there is no score or a tie. Sqay also has artistic events, performed alone or in teams and marked by judges.
