  1. How does a silambam fight start?The referee salutes the ring chairman, then signals the fighters into the court.
  2. What are fouls in silambam?The referee or ring chairman can warn, take points or disqualify for power hits, banned targets, leaving the court, wrong cuts, ignoring instructions and outside coaching.

  1. What are the silambam weapon events?There are five display events: Erattai Kambu Veechu (double stick), Vel Kambu Veechu (spear), Vall Veechu (sword), Surul Vall Veechu (steel whip) and Otrai Kambu Veechu (single stick).
