How a match works, in a minute
How a para rowing race works
- Para rowing is rowing for athletes with an eligible physical or visual impairment. Crews race 2000 m like other rowers.
- Rowers are classed PR1, PR2 or PR3 by how much they can use their legs, trunk and arms.
- PR1 and PR2 rowers row on a fixed seat; the PR1 single carries floats to keep it steady. PR3 rowers use a sliding seat, as in rowing.
- Paris 2024 had five events, from the PR1 single sculls to the PR3 mixed coxed four. The first boat over the line wins.
