How a match works, in a minute
How a para badminton match works
- Para badminton is badminton for players with a physical impairment, played under badminton's laws with extra clauses for para play.
- There are six classes. WH1 and WH2 play in wheelchairs; SL3 and SL4 stand with a lower-limb impairment; SU5 stand with an upper-limb impairment; SH6 is for short stature.
- Wheelchair players use a smaller court, and SL3 singles a half-court. Other standing events use the full court.
- Scoring is the same as in badminton. From 4 January 2027 a game is won at 15 points instead of 21.
