How is a gatka bout won?
B · Beginner · Scoring and fouls · 4 of 4The player or team with more points wins. An eight-point lead in the first round over an opponent with none ends an individual bout. If points are level, a one-minute tie-breaker is fought; then fewer fouls decide, and if still level the time is extended until a golden point or a foul. In team events a disqualified player's opponent gets 20 points.
How it works
- Winner: most points.
- Eight-point lead: first round, opponent on zero.
- Tie: one-minute tie-breaker.
- Then: fewer fouls.
- Then: golden point.
- Foul in extra time: loses.
- Team DSQ: opponent gets 20.
- Result: announced, then hand raised.
