  1. What is "point in line", and what is a beat attack?Point in line is a position: the arm held straight with the point threatening the opponent's target.

  1. What happens if neither fencer attacks?If a minute of fencing passes without a hit, the referee calls halt.
  2. Are fencers allowed to touch each other, turn round or use their free hand?Fencing at close quarters is allowed while both can still use their weapons.
