The event

  1. Why do some fast marathon times not count as records?A road time can be a world record only if the course meets conditions beyond the ordinary rules.

The race

  1. What drinks are provided during the race, and where?Water and other refreshments are available at the start and finish, and water about every 5 km along the course.

Conduct and kit

  1. What help may an athlete have during the race?An athlete may not be paced by anyone who is not in the race, may not carry a phone or radio and may not be physically helped along by another athlete.
